Lately with all the owls, I've been keeping their information secret on ebird and even on my reports because there are some very bad people out there who don't care at all about their actions. Unfortunately that is the way of things. Photographers crossing lines and people with guns thinking they can shoot anything that flies their way. Sad! Barn Owls this year have taken a beating. We have several down here and I monitor them regularly....found one hit by a car! Of the owl species, this one is of concern to me as their smaller populations struggle here. I love Tres Ríos for the incredible bird species found there but they need to monitor that area. We had a hunter there while in search of a Painted Bunting. They disappeared quickly into the reeds which was really awkward. Glad you were with Walker. Not a safe place to bird but it is a GREAT place for birds. We saw the Painted Bunting as I was thrilled. Thanks for finding that gem! A new bird for me in every way possible. Stay safe and drink lots of fluids!Rohrerbothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02136631378931478644noreply@blogger.com
